About Biotrons
Who is behind the trading workflow?
Biotrons is a small George-based team focused on the mechanics of testable trading automation.

Software for stated trading rules
Biotrons builds and configures tools that turn a client's written trading rules into workflows that can be tested, connected and monitored. Our work covers strategy logic, historical testing, pre-order controls, broker interfaces and activity dashboards. We serve individual strategy operators and small trading teams in South Africa, working from George with clients who can collaborate remotely on specifications and review sessions. We are a software provider, not a brokerage or an investment adviser. Clients choose their instruments, accounts and rules, and decide whether a configuration should ever be used for live orders. Before building, we ask for a description detailed enough to expose ambiguities: what produces a signal, what order follows and what should happen when the expected data is unavailable. That conversation often shows that a manual process is more appropriate than automation.
How we make the work reviewable
Since 2021, our approach has been to separate a workflow into parts that can be checked: the stated rule, the data it reads, the order instruction, the broker response and the record left behind. We document assumptions, exercise failure cases in testing and arrange a handover so the person operating the system knows how to pause it. Our small-team size keeps the working relationship direct, but it also means support is scheduled within stated business hours rather than presented as continuous supervision. We cannot establish whether a strategy will perform well, remove market exposure, supply missing broker permissions or make a third-party service available when it is down. Historical tests describe selected past conditions, not future outcomes. Clients retain responsibility for account security, strategy approval and the decision to place capital at risk.
The steps behind a configuration
Step 1
We review the written strategy, intended instruments and broker requirements, and identify conditions that are not yet precise enough to implement.
Step 2
We define the workflow, its limits and its expected behaviour when data, an order or a connection fails.
Step 3
We test the configuration, share records for review and make agreed changes before any live connection is considered.
Step 4
We hand over documentation and a monitoring routine, including who can pause the workflow and when to seek help.
A clear boundary matters
Technical implementation is only one part of operating a trading system. The client must assess the strategy, understand the broker's terms and keep someone responsible for reviewing activity. We explain where data quality, market conditions or third-party systems limit what our tools can show and do. If a proposed workflow requires us to make discretionary investment decisions, or cannot be monitored by its operator, we will not describe automation as a suitable substitute.
